Sunday rest
prayers and gifts
of winter with
new hope
for spring
snowflakes
floating in the air
separate
together
artists
across places
and time
snow in the fields
and resting on branches
winter in Wisconsin
the faith of birds
trusting in seed
under snow
snow on the branch
where birds visit
in spring
I begin again
with Psalm One
a snowflake falls
then another
each a work of art
And he shall be like a tree
planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season:
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1: 3 (KJV)
“snowflakes” is from Quiet Christmas Poetry.
“the faith of birds” was published first in SMILE, a large print journal that was edited/published by Joyce M. Johnson.
Poems From Psalms And Nature is the site we began in July 2010. I am creating some new Posts and Pages – a work in progress.
New poem yesterday at POEMS FROM OOSTBURG, WISCONSIN
Winter Solstice 2021
Winter begins
today is the shortest
day of light
Oostburg, Wisconsin
Midwest, USA
Northern Hemisphere
And tomorrow
I will begin to watch
the days grow longer
Write new poems
about the light
This post begins a new series, as I review my photos of our Great Lake in Wisconsin USA, over the seasons and years.

early hours
of quiet and poetry
gardens overflow
and if some winter
my mind forgets
my heart will know

February light
on the trees
easy to imagine
their new growth
in Spring
