afternoon sun

September 13, 2021September 13, 2021 ~ Ellen Grace Olinger

Poems From Oostburg, Wisconsin

afternoon sun
fills the lamp
on a file cabinet

my study
where I have
read and prayed
through many years

I may read
from a book read
during a difficult time
and now years
have gone by

and I read again
with gratitude
and hope for today
and tomorrow

more colors of blue

more colors of blue
in Lake Michigan today
than I can name
the wonder of always learning
dreaming new dreams

country roads

Poems From Oostburg, Wisconsin

country roads
signs of change
in the landscape
and sky

yard overgrown
with plants
for bees
and butterflies

so much can wait
one step at a time
so much gets done

tiny leaves

May 8, 2019 ~ Ellen Grace Olinger

tiny leaves
on trees
no prayer
in my heart
too small for God

Grief And Acceptance

old weathered trees
in afternoon sun
seem so peaceful
why worry about leaves
not just yet
the sun is longer
and maybe warmer
and the sky is blue

Easter And Spring Poetry

writing and reading
I don’t see the dust
then seeing I remember

and know He does not forget

and understands with Love

For he knoweth our frame;
he remembereth we are dust.

Psalm 103: 14 (KJV)
