praying the Psalms
and reading poetry
books and journals
I write new poems
about everyday life
for as long
as I can remember
verses from the Psalms
I begin again
with Psalm One
a snowflake falls
then another
each a work of art
And he shall be like a tree
planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season:
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1: 3 (KJV)
the green that goes
the green that stays
evergreens
trees with leaves
and Fall colors
and then their
shapes and sky
trees with holiday
lights in Winter
and trees
with blossoms
and new leaves
in Spring
From Psalm 1:
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1: 3

Poems From Psalms And Nature
treetops
with gold leaves
whispering
in mild winds
“Unto thee,
O LORD,
do I lift up
my soul.”
Psalm 25: 1
But we have this treasure
in earthen vessels,
that the excellency
of the power
may be of God,
and not of us.
2 Corinthians 4: 7 (KJV)
God be merciful unto us, and bless us;
and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
That thy way may be known upon earth,
thy saving health among all nations.
Psalm 67: 1 – 2
