Silent Sunday – Tulip

Evening,
and morning,
and at noon,
will I pray,
and cry aloud:
and he shall hear my voice.
Psalm 55: 17
light in my study
and the yard
changes through
the days and seasons
reading and rereading
poetry journals and books
I understand a little more
clouds and yet
enough light
to fill a jam jar
with the last
of the carnations

Blessed are the peacemakers:
for they shall be called the children of God.
