Daily Prompt – Place

Do you have a favorite place you have visited? Where is it?

Daily Prompt

We live in Wisconsin, the Midwest, USA. I am grateful to be home now, my favorite place. We live by Lake Michigan in a small town. I love to watch the light through the days and seasons, and our perennial gardens.

country roads

country roads
signs of change
in the landscape
and sky

yard overgrown
with plants
for bees
and butterflies

so much can wait
one step at a time
so much gets done

AND SO MY SOUL

And so my soul
Spills over
Into print again
As the sun spills
Over flowers
And the neighborhood
Sleeps

Endurance is eloquent
And marigolds are
Admirable because
They bloom
So long

Oh, my heart
Is tender
Yet God keeps it
Strong
And so my soul
Spills over
Into print again

Three Poems From The Archives

tree branches
bowed to the ground
seemingly half-broken
covered with new leaves

answers to prayers
I did not know to pray
verses of Psalms

as if they could
store the sun
small blankets
on a chair
add color to
the scene
as they await
to warm
another time
