Spring Poetry Journals

Spring poetry journals
arrive in the mail
gifted editors,
poets, and
publishers
I would like
to read them all
yet the week
has been busy
with art at home
I admire the journals
and set them aside
for the morning
and will give them
a season of my time

Poem by Ellen Grace Olinger

Inspiration and Revision

reading a Psalm . . .
listen to the green
and my heart is at peace

* Listen to the Green, by Luci Shaw, is a favorite book.

This is reprinted from the post at Poems For Bulletin Boards, with images from wpclipart (education and art site – a wide variety of images). My post might be an idea for National Poetry Month and Earth Day (April 22). Students can share favorite authors. My haiku is a thank you note, and models credit for inspiration. I read every book by Luci Shaw, and there are many over decades. I deleted my reblog of the same post earlier this week.

I reblog often, and also update posts and designs. I learn a lot from WordPress.com and am grateful. I can try new ideas, and revise. I often review my archives and reprint in new ways.

Yesterday I wrote another version of my poem at Poems From Psalms And Nature, with images from the WordPress.com free photo library. This post is Haiku and Photos.

I read a Psalm and
listen to the green *
my heart rests

Listen to the Green, by Luci Shaw, is a favorite book.

This version also reflects my health journey. I am grateful for my Care Team and progress. Blogs are flexible and work well for me.
