how still
the winter landscape
I whisper the Psalms

how still
the winter landscape
I whisper the Psalms
grey morning
February settles here
for a time
February light
on the trees
easy to imagine
their new growth
in spring
snowflakes
floating in the air
separate
together
artists
across places
and time
snow in the fields
and resting on branches
winter in Wisconsin
the faith of birds
trusting in seed
under snow
snow on the branch
where birds visit
in spring
I begin again
with Psalm One
a snowflake falls
then another
each a work of art
And he shall be like a tree
planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season:
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1: 3 (KJV)

“the faith of birds” was published first in SMILE, a large print journal that was edited/published by Joyce M. Johnson.

Where can you reduce clutter in your life?
Daily Prompt
I have old books from my mother’s home. More than I can read, and I hope to donate some to a thrift store for others to read, or perhaps use in collage projects.
Not now, in winter. Maybe they will be an Easter gift. They are not “clutter” but perhaps good to share.
In terms of reducing clutter, I have found it helpful to work a little at a time. This morning, after work in the kitchen, I thought:
morning work
for a few moments
everything in place
