Think back on your most memorable road trip.

Daily Prompt

Years ago, and for several years, I drove from our small town to the Milwaukee area (Wisconsin USA) to help with my mother’s care.

groceries for Mom
fresh flowers
always on the list

another year
has passed since
my mother’s passing
I sit and quietly read
a book she would like too

What is your mission?

Daily Prompt

My mission is hope. I write because I love language, enjoy designing blog posts, and to offer a few moments of beauty, encouragement, and hope.

For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD:
thou art my trust from my youth.

Psalm 71: 5 (KJV)

What are your biggest challenges?

Daily Prompt

My answer to this question would vary over years and decades. These last years are about growing older as well as I can. I follow a good health plan every day. Good progress, and I am grateful to many people. Blogs work well. We live in our home, and if I should need more care some day, my blogs will go with me! Wonderful to know.

An old acrostic poem – rest is important.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11: 28 (KJV)

Take good care!

How are you creative?

Daily Prompt

Creativity is a part of health for me, and the definition changes over time.

When I helped with my mother’s care, that was good creative work. When I arrange art and books – and this changes all the time – this is creativity. The kitchen and gardens. A kind note. We are all creative. Gifted and can grow.

I may not work the long hours as before, but blogs work very well for me. And so much room to grow. I write, reprint poems in new ways, try new ideas with post designs. I postponed work on a new book and trust the right time for different projects. So grateful and I look forward to each day and the new year. Thank you and blessings.

sometimes it seems

sometimes it seems
the older I grow
the more simple
my poems become

and yet they are
supported by years
all the ways life
challenges and grows

and I am grateful
for every day
and look forward
by God’s grace

in some ways

in some ways
I felt older than I was

my health
family caregiver

now that I am old
those years
give me strength
