Haiku

I mentioned in an earlier post, Literature and History, that my mother taught composition and literature at a university. When I began writing more poetry, and print journals accepted my work, she wrote the page numbers for my poems on the covers. She also suggested I learn a form, and then I began with haiku. My mother said to learn about a form – and always more to learn – and then you can try your own ideas.
